Whether you're changing one or all four tires, you may wonder how much money you're going to pay for it. The answer is, it depends. According to a source, the price of tires goes down in October to encourage drivers to buy before winter and in April when there is warm weather to encourage people to take road trips. You may be able to buy new tires at cut-priced deals during these months. Here are other factors that affect how much you pay for new tires.  

Tire Type

The tire type you're looking for plays a major factor in the price. For example, if you want seasonal tires, like summer tires or winter and snow tires, the best time to shop for them is during the off-seasons. The low demand means they are likely to be priced more affordably. 

For all-season tires, the price fluctuations may not be significant, even during the off-season. Still, it's better to buy them when there are moderate weather conditions in order to avoid competing with other consumers who have realized their tires cannot cope well with extreme temperatures, rain, or snow. 

Longevity of Tires

Some people buy cheap tires because they want to reduce costs. But in the end, those tires may not last long, so they have to spend additional money on getting their tires replaced. 

Durable tires may cost you a little bit more but are good value for your money. They will serve you for a long time, saving the money you would have spent on repairs or replacements. Tires with sturdy sidewalls, thick treads, hard rubber, and some reinforcement, for example, usually last longer than the tires without these features.

Nearly all tire manufacturers offer some form of warranty on their tires as a sign of confidence in the quality of their products. The warranties cover different lengths of time and different tire damages, depending on the manufacturer. 

As is expected, tire brands with lengthy warranty periods will cost more than those with short warranties. Similarly, those that cover multiple types of damages will be more expensive than those that only cover a few types of damages.
